Mark Carthew – October 30 2016

Mark is an award-winning children’s author, poet, musician and educator. He is well known for his numerous books and series exploring wordplay, music, movement, drama and humour. Mark’s recent releases include numerous poetry titles including Machino Supremo! and the rhyme and riddle books Newts, Lutes and Bandicoots, Wicked Wizards & Leaping Lizards, Witches’ Britches, Itches & Twitches! as well as Kaleidoscope: Three Plays Based on Poems by Michael Rosen, adapted by Mark for the stage. Mark holds a PhD from Swinburne University, a Graduate Diploma of Music Education, a Diploma of Teaching (Primary) and a Diploma in Frontline Management. He is an editor in the Chatterbox series for Pearson Education and his illustrated play-script series VoiceWorks has sold over a million titles worldwide. Mark is an Australian Society of Authors Director and Executive Board Member and he was the recipient of a 2013 May Gibbs Children’s Literature Trust Creative Time Residential Fellowship.
