John is of Kabi Kabi Aboriginal and South-Sea Island origin. His Australian Indigenous mob are caretakers of the mainland area from approximately the Fraser to Moreton Islands area of the SE-Qld coastline. He is a former CQUniversity student and staff member. Writing under the pen name Pemulwuy Weeatunga, John has published a 10-book Aboriginal Australian e-book series about the fictional Fethafoot Clan, with its elder warriors, advanced in spiritual travel, who use ancient Dreamtime ‘creation-lines’ to move swiftly across their lands. “Thus, in a mixture of fear and awe the Clan became known as the Fethafoot – half-man, half-spirit beings – who could come and go at will, leaving no trace: Kadaicha spirit-warriors.” John wrote the series to encourage Aboriginal youth to read and write fiction. He wrote half the tales while travelling around Australia in a sedan with his red cattle dog, Trumby, and now lives in Cairns.
